Competition Rules

1. The Promoter and Governing Law

1.1. The promoter of the Father’s Day Pop-a-Balloon Competition (“the Competition”) is We Buy Cars (Pty) Ltd (“WeBuyCars”), with registration number 2015/130772/07 and registered address at Building 7, Byls Bridge Office Park, 6 Byls Bridge Boulevard, Highveld, Centurion, Gauteng.

1.2. All persons entering this Competition (“Participant(s)”) agree to these Terms and Conditions (“T&Cs”) as set out herein below.

1.3. Please read these T&Cs carefully, as some of these T&Cs may limit the risk or liability of WeBuyCars or a third party and/or may create a risk or liability for the Participant and/or may compel the Participant to indemnify WeBuyCars or a third party and/or serve as an acknowledgement of the Participant of a fact.

1.4. These T&Cs are governed by the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, as amended (“the Act”). The content of these T&Cs is not intended to, or must not be understood to unlawfully restrict, limit or avoid any rights or obligations, as the case may be, created either for WeBuyCars or the Participant in terms of the Act and the Regulations of the Act.

2. Participation and Eligibility

2.1. By entering the Competition, the Participant acknowledges that he/she has had an opportunity to read these T&Cs and that the Participant understands and agrees to these T&Cs.

2.2. All Participants must be older than 18 (eighteen) years and possess a valid South African identity number or a valid passport. The Participant must have all of the required documents allowing them to purchase and/or sell a motor vehicle as defined in the National Road Traffic Act 93 of 1996, as amended (“Vehicle” or “Vehicles”) in South Africa.

2.3. No employee or director of WeBuyCars or its holding company and/or any subsidiary of WeBuyCars (“the Group”) may enter the Competition.

2.4. Dealers and wholesalers will not be eligible for discounts offered in the Competition.

2.5. By buying a Vehicle and qualifying for the Competition, the Participant(s) authorise WeBuyCars to collect, store and use (but not to share) the personal information of the Participants for the reasons set out in WeBuyCars’ privacy policy, which is available at https://www.webuycars.co.za/privacy. The Participants are entitled to decline any communication for marketing purposes.

3. The Retail "Pop-A-Balloon" Promotion

3.1. The Competition only applies to retail Vehicles purchased via cash or finance at a physical WeBuyCars branch from 19 June 2026 to 20 June 2026, both days inclusive (“Competition Dates”).

3.2. Vehicles purchased via auction are strictly excluded from the Competition.

3.3. If a Participant intends to purchase the Vehicle on finance, the Participant will be invited to "Pop-A-Balloon" to reveal a random discount after signature of the Offer to Purchase (“OTP”) on the Competition Dates (this excludes any Vehicle purchased via the auction platform) during the Competition Dates. The Participant must provide all required documentation for the finance application to be submitted on the day of signature of the OTP .

3.4 If a Participant purchases a Vehicle cash on the Competition Dates, the Participant will be invited to “Pop-A-Ballon” to reveal a random discount. The net purchase price must be paid in full on the same day of the invoice issue date. Failure to pay and provide proof of payment on this day will result in the immediate forfeiture of the discount.

3.5. Discounts are only available while discounts last and are on a first-come, first-served basis.

3.6. The discount revealed inside the balloon is final. No correspondence or disputes regarding the discount value will be entered into.

3.7. The results of the Competition (i.e. the discount awarded) will be determined on a random basis by the selection of a balloon by the Participant. Results will be made known to the Participant immediately upon popping the balloon at the relevant WeBuyCars branch.

3.8. The discount is capped at the total purchase price of the Vehicle. No "change" or cash-outs will be given if a discount exceeds the purchase price.

3.9. The discount awarded in terms of the Competition is non-transferable and cannot be assigned, sold, or transferred to any other party, individual, or transaction. Additionally, there shall be no variation, modification, or alteration of these T&Cs, unless determined by WeBuyCars. These T&Cs shall remain binding on the Participant.

3.10. A copy of these T&Cs may be obtained free of charge on request from WeBuyCars at any physical WeBuyCars branch during the Competition Dates, or by emailing popi@webuycars.co.za. These T&Cs will also be made available to the National Consumer Commission on request.

4. General Rules, Liabilities and Indemnities

4.1. In the event of a transaction cancellation, including cancellations under sections 55 and 56 of the Act, or a failure to take delivery of the Vehicle within the prescribed timeframe, any discount awarded in the Competition will be forfeited by the Participant. Consequently, the Participant shall have no entitlement, in cash or any other form, to the discounted amount. Additionally, the forfeited discount will not be transferable or applicable to any replacement Vehicle or subsequent purchase.

4.2. The winners may be publicly announced through social media platforms, which may include posts containing personal information about the winners. This information may encompass, but is not limited to, photographs, videos and the names of the winners (“personal information”). Winners will be invited to permit the use of their personal information for such publication and are afforded the opportunity to decline. No winner is required to permit the use of his or her image in marketing material or to participate in any marketing activity. Winners who wish to decline may do so by notifying WeBuyCars in writing or by sending an email to popi@webuycars.co.za.

4.3. By entering the Competition, all the Participants and the winners indemnify WeBuyCars, including its associated companies, their directors, officers, employees and agents, against any claims for any loss or damages, whether direct, indirect, special, incidental or consequential or otherwise, arising from any cause whatsoever connected to or arising from their participation in any way in this Competition.

4.4. WeBuyCars reserves the right to refuse a prize/discount if there is any suspicion of irregularity or fraud.

4.5. The winners will be final, and no communication will be considered in this regard. The prizes will be immediately handed over to the winners.

4.6. The winners undertake to, as fast as possible, do all things necessary to enable WeBuyCars to comply with its obligations in terms of the Act, including, but not limited to, providing such personal information as may be required to facilitate the handing over of the prize.

4.7. This Competition is subject to change. WeBuyCars reserves the right to amend these T&Cs, or to suspend or cancel the Competition at any time without prior notice or liability.
