Code of Conduct

Understand the South African Automotive Industry Code of Conduct

cover

WeBuyCars is fully committed to complying with the Consumer Protection Act, 2008 (CPA) and the South African Automotive Industry Code of Conduct (Code), a regulation prescribed under the authority of the CPA.

The Code’s primary purpose is to regulate the interactions between businesses in the automotive industry and consumers, like you, ensuring fair business practices and consumer protection.

The vision of the Code is for the entire industry to consistently comply with the spirit and contents of the CPA.

What this means for you (the Consumer):

  • Fair and transparent service: You as the consumer, have the right to safe, reliable products at fair prices. Businesses may not mislead, pressure, or hide important details from you.
  • Effective complaint handling: You are entitled to effective handling of your complaints. To this end, WeBuyCars has established internal complaint-handling processes to address any concerns you may have. Should you need to log a complaint with us, you can start the process here. In the event that a dispute is not resolved, you have the right to approach the Motor Industry Ombud of South Africa (MIOSA). MIOSA is the accredited alternative dispute resolution body for the automotive industry. MIOSA was established to resolve disputes in a fair, informal, and expeditious manner.

  • By following this Code, WeBuyCars aims to ensure that your experience with us is transparent, fair, and trustworthy. For more details, you can view the full Code here.
