WeBuyCars is looking for a National Preparation and Reconditioning Manager to own vehicle preparation as a strategic function across our branch network. This role has oversight over every stage a vehicle will pass through before it goes up for sale and will also manage the first panel beating workshop at WeBuyCars Dome. Your job is to make sure preparation keeps improving everywhere, deciding where more capacity is needed, implementing tighter and more consistent processes, and ensuring quality that across branches.

Key Responsibilities:

National Prep Capacity Planning & Infrastructure Investment

• Work out which branches are constrained by prep capacity or layout and build the business case for new or upgraded washbays Determine the standard for a well-run prep center. 
• Plan and sequence the rollout of upgrades based.
• Set the national training and skills framework for prep and workshop roles and quality controller, in collaboration with operations managers.

Dome Panel Beating Workshop Performance:

• Repair vehicles damaged in-house.
• Conduct an audit through of the national inventory to indicate vehicles where a modest, budgeted cosmetic repair would lift the resale price.
• Set the criteria for which inventory vehicles qualify for repair-for-value work.
• Set and maintain clear quality and turnaround standards for both in-house damage repairs and repair-for-value work

Process Standardisation & SOP Governance:

• Responsible for setting and reviewing all SOP’s related to washbays and workshops.
• Conduct branch audit compliance checks and work with the relevant Operations Manager to close the gaps identified. 
• Aim for measurable time reductions in the cleaning, photography and condition-report sequence, without a drop in quality score.
• Ensure panel beating and cosmetic repair work meets roadworthy and safety requirements.

Quality Controller Capability & Quality Assurance:

• Set clear and consistent standards to inspect, and to apply training according.
• Use performance data e.g. rework rates, comebacks and audit scores to identify quality controllers and/branches that require coaching.
• Visit branches periodically to calibrate service and quality levels against national benchmark.
• Conduct regular one-on-ones with Quality controllers to guide career growth.

 Cost Control, Equipment & Facilities Management:

• Ensure every prep center and the workshop meet health, safety and environmental requirements.
• Report to the National Operations Manager on prep and workshop performance, turnaround, quality, and progress on expansion.
